Fossilised Time features original musical artwork inspired by a variety of visual images. Featuring several new works including a striking image entitled ‘Antarctica’ amd an intricate graphic score called ‘The Wardour Oak’ both inspired by the paintings of Gary Cook. There also three new works drawing on artwork by my close family: a painting of amonites which forms the title-piece of the exhibition, a painting by my brother Andrew using the Mutual Appropriation technique and a photograph of the Temple of Horus in Edfu.
At the free concert on Saturday 27th I will perform all the new works as well as a piece for saxophone and piano based on one of my father’s sketches and the piece ‘Gold Hill’ for cello and piano.
